Ever since I can remember, I've always eaten well. I was raised in a home where my family made home-cooked meals almost every night. I grew up active, constantly playing sports and living at my local gymnastics gym. It wasn't until college that I started having issues with nutrition. Looking back, I was so disrespectful to my body. I would drink way too much, eat way too much, and never any of the right things. I gained more weight then than I ever had before. I finally got a handle on everything during my last two years of school but even then, I knew food could be so much more enjoyable if used 'correctly'. Food is fuel. In this day in age there is so much stigma around each and every calorie we put into our bodies, so no, I'm not here as a registered nutritionist or dietitian, telling you all the ins and outs of what a perfect diet should look like - I'm just here to help you make better choices, eat healthier without spending hours in the kitchen, and to help you watch your body transform into all that God has intended it be. Aside from fitness, my nutrition journey has been my most enjoyable part of life over the past couple of years. I have fallen in love with eating healthier foods and fueling my body in the best way, because I genuinely feel better after doing so. Results I see every day: more energy, more toned, faster recovery times, better sleep, less bloating, glowing skin, and less cravings.
I'll be using this section of the blog to share my own healthy (and usually very easy) recipes, shopping lists, articles and products/brands that I love. Please know that I am a firm believer in balance and rest assured, I love a good (couple) glasses of wine or scoops of cookie dough - it's not about beating yourself up if you indulge, we're supposed to enjoy food! We're just not allowed to let it take charge of our lives. Healthy habits are the strongest foundation to a healthy life, so it's about what you're choosing to fuel your body with day in and day out, that will reflect on the exterior. Please ask me any questions below or within the contact form.
